Introduction
Labour and Employment office, Butwal, was established formerly in 2033 BS, as Labour Office Lumbini zone. The working area of this offices covers the eight districts of Lumbini Province viz. Rolpa, Pyuthan, Nawalparasi susta paschim, Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Palpa, Gulmi and Arghakhanchi. The main responsibility of this office is to address the issues related to labour, and effective application the laws,rules ,policies and orders related to labour.
In addition, the office also works for good practice of industrial labour relations, prevention of child labour, enforcing the labour law, bonus law and related rules in various industries and enterprises, and also the issues related to trade union and related laws.
From 15th of Poush, 2075 onwards, Issuiing the Re-entry Labour Approval for foreign employment has also been started
